NHS pension scheme: pension flexibility consultation document issued

The government has now issued the formal consultation document on increased pension flexibility for NHS senior clinical staff.

As per our previous article on the subject, these additional flexibilities are being introduced to try and help resolve the annual allowance and lifetime allowance issues that are widely reported to be causing senior NHS staff (mainly high earning consultants and GPs) to reduce their work commitments in order to reduce their pension accrual.
