FCA publishes finalised guidance on treating vulnerable clients fairly

The FCA has published finalised guidance to help firms ensure they are treating their vulnerable clients fairly. This follows a consultation on the guidance in August 2020 seeking views on proposed regulatory guidance. The finalised guidance (FG21/1) is effective immediately.

A vulnerable client is someone who, due to their personal circumstances, is especially susceptible to harm - particularly when a firm is not acting with appropriate levels of care.
