The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has welcomed new proposals designed to improve its ability to intervene to protect members of defined benefit pension schemes.

In its white paper, Protecting Defined Benefit Pension Schemes, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) sets out a suite of measures that will strengthen the funding of DB schemes and improve TPR’s powers to act against employers who fail to treat schemes fairly.
