The Asset Management Market Study: Points to consider

In November 2015, the FCA launched their Asset Management Market Study (‘AMMS’). The main aim of the AMMS was for the FCA to understand how asset managers compete to deliver value for money to investors. The focus was on price competition. The main conclusion of the AMMS was that there was weak price competition in the asset management sector and potential investor protection issues.

As a result, the FCA has introduced a wide package of measures – referred to as ‘remedies’. The remedies fall into two main parts:
