Round Up - Quarter three 2020

Since the last edition of Round Up much has been written about the human, business and societal implications of the pandemic. I’ve spent a lot of my time speaking with our clients, and it’s been encouraging to hear how you’ve been supporting your clients with the current levels of uncertainty. Many of you have taken conversations way beyond portfolio values, and have been connecting with your clients on a much more emotional level – getting to know you clients better really helps you understand what really matters to them. This edition includes two features from firms who specialise in the art of communications for those looking to enhance their client relationships further. As the importance and frequency of communicating online rises, we also include a warning about the prevalence of financial scams.

As markets have fallen, it’s been positive to hear how well portfolios have held up through the recent volatility, and how time spent educating your clients on risk is now really paying off – reducing anxiety and the number of knee jerk reactions. Education and communication is a big part of risk mitigation.
