Changes to the PPF compensation cap

The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) takes over the payment of scheme benefits for Defined Benefit schemes where the employer fails and has insufficient funds to pay the promised benefits.

Any member under their scheme’s normal pension age at the PPF assessment date is subject to the compensation cap (unless they are in receipt of an ill-health pension or survivor’s pension at the assessment date).
